Resurrection is a warm and diverse congregation. Our members range from ultra-liberal to staunch conservative and everything else in between.  We love and respect all of our members, and people from all walks of life are welcome to come and join us for worship regardless of their beliefs.  Although individuals within our congregation may vary on beliefs, corporately we have come together to affirm and proclaim the ancient faith passed down to us. We corporately affirm the core tenants of our Christian heritage, our Protestant heritage, and our Anglican heritage.

Our Christian Heritage
The Creeds

Creeds are statements of our basic beliefs about God. The term comes from the Latin credo, meaning I believe.

While we will always have questions about God, the Church, and our own faith, we have two foundational creeds that we use during worship: the Apostles’ Creed used at baptism and daily worship, and the Nicene Creed used at communion. In reciting and affirming these creeds, we join Christians across the world and throughout the ages in affirming our faith in the one God who created us, redeemed us, and sanctifies us.

Our Protestant Heritage
The Five Solas:
These are five Latin phrases that emerged from the Protestant Reformation intended to summarize the Reformers' basic theological principles.  They have become the core of Protestant thinking and are each affirmed and taught at Holy Apostles.

  • Sola Gratia, by grace alone.

  • Sola Fide, by faith alone.

  • Solus Christus, through Christ alone.

  • Sola Scriptura, by scripture alone.

  • Soli Deo Gloria, glory to God alone.
